The Palm Springs Angels began play in 1986 when the Redwood Pioneers were relocated to Palm Springs. Palm Springs was affiliated with the California Angels all 8 seasons of play. The Palm Springs Angels saw great success in their first season when they finished in first place with 87 wins. The Palm Springs Angels made it to the playoffs three times in their existence, (1986, 1988, 1992) but were never able to advance past the first round. After the 1993 season, team owners moved the team to a brand new stadium in Lake Elsinore and became the Lake Elsinore Storm.
